A note from the Principal.

On laboratory-first teaching, public-health responsibility, and what the next pharmacist generation should look like.

It is my privilege to welcome you to Vaagdevi College of Pharmacy. Since 1999, our institution has been shaped by a single conviction — that pharmacy education is, above all, a public-health responsibility. Every classroom, laboratory and clinical rotation on this campus is designed with that conviction in mind.

We offer four programs — B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, M.Pharmacy across five specializations, and Ph.D — across four departments. What unites them is a commitment to laboratory-first teaching. Our students don't read about pharmacology and pharmaceutics; they run experiments, work through case studies on the ward, and graduate ready to take responsibility on day one.

Our faculty are active researchers and clinicians as well as teachers. They publish in indexed journals, supervise dissertations across the M.Pharm and Ph.D cohorts, and bring current questions in formulation, regulatory science and clinical pharmacy directly into the classroom. The Training & Placement Cell ensures that what we teach connects cleanly with where our graduates go — from QA and formulation roles at India's leading pharma majors, to hospital pharmacy at multispecialty hospitals, to graduate study in India and abroad.

Beyond the curriculum, we ask our students to take their training into the community. Health camps, awareness drives, the Red Ribbon Club and clinical attachments are not extracurricular — they are part of what makes a pharmacist. We believe that a good pharmacist is also a good citizen.

If you are a prospective student, I encourage you to visit the campus, speak with our faculty, and see the labs. If you are an alumnus, you will always find a place here. And if you are a recruiting partner or a research collaborator, my office and the Training & Placement Cell are open to you.

Welcome to Vaagdevi.
