Four departments, one curriculum.

Each department brings its own faculty, labs and research focus. Use the jump links below to skip to the one you're looking for.

Department of Pharmacology

Pharmacology

This department is involved in screening of natural and synthetic drugs for their pharmacological activities using in vitro and in vivo models involving preclinical and toxicological studies. Knowledge on experimental skill is imparted to students through computer aided visuals.

Faculty research interests include CNS pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, inflammation, diabetes models, and pharmacovigilance methodology. Several ongoing projects collaborate with the clinical pharmacy services on the Pharm.D side.

Department of Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics

It comprises of a well organized research wing which works to understand the safety, efficacy and biological action of different formulations and designing of novel drug delivery systems like sustained, controlled, transdermal, ocular, mucoadhesive and targeted drug delivery systems.

The department runs scale-up and equipment training for B.Pharm students and supports M.Pharm thesis work across formulation engineering, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The department is established in 2006, well equipped and works on the designing and development of new molecules for various diseases of CNS, CVS, Pain, inflammation, cancer, TB etc. using advanced tools, synthetic methodologies and techniques. It is also engaged in research on natural products. The department has experienced faculty and the alumni are 100% placed in various sectors.

Synthesis, characterization and biological screening of new chemical entities is the department's core. Active collaborations with the pharmacology department turn promising synthetic leads into screening candidates without leaving campus.

Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis

Pharmaceutical Analysis

The department focuses on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs and pharmaceutical formulations, equipping students with hands-on training in modern analytical instrumentation and method development as per pharmacopoeial and regulatory standards.

Teaching and research span chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, stability-indicating method development and validation, and quality-control workflows used across the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory laboratories.

Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharm.D

Clinical Pharmacy & Pharm.D

The department anchors the Pharm.D programme, training students in patient-centred pharmacy practice through hospital postings, clinical case work, pharmacokinetics and drug-information services in partnership with teaching hospitals.

Students undertake structured ward rounds, clinical clerkships and adverse-drug-reaction monitoring, building competence in therapeutics, clinical pharmacokinetics, pharmacovigilance and patient counselling alongside practising clinicians.
